Radiated Emissions System
Emissions testing involves measuring the amount of RF energy being given off by an EUT. Radiated Emissions tests use a tuned antenna to measure the energy that is being radiated at a given distance. When using a calibrated antenna, the antenna gain factor is included in the measurement to allow the electric field strength to be measured in dBµV/m (decibel microvolts per metre), or the magnetic field strength in dBµA/m (decibel microamps per metre).
The EMC standard will dictate the frequency range to be assessed and the relevant test parameters, such as resolution bandwidth, measurement time, etc.
Standards that can be provided include:
- CISPR 16-2-3
- MIL-STD-461 – RE101 / RE102
- Def Stan 59-411 – DRE01 / DRE02
Equipment and Support
Equipment
Equipment shall be selected by EMC Hire engineers based on the customer's needs, therefore please provide as much information as possible (e.g. applicable standard, test limit, etc.) when enquiring.
The system consists of antennas appropriate to the frequency range, a test receiver, pre-amp (if needed), antenna stand and cables.
An automatic mast and turntable can be provided for fully automated systems when applying the EMC Directive.
A laptop containing DARE RadiMation test software is included in the system, which will be preloaded with the appropriate test configurations including transducer factors. A software operating procedure is also included to guide you through using the software.
Test Support
EMC Hire can provide an Engineer to set up the system at your location if required, or can offer remote assistance via TeamViewer or Teams.
