Defence Test Systems

Equipment for use by the UK Ministry of Defence will likely have to comply with various Defence Standards. The EMC requirements can be found in Def Stan 59-411. The actual requirements differ depending on the environment of use (Land, Sea or Air) and the proximity to intentional RF sources.

Defence Standard 61-5 covers the power quality requirements of vehicles and platforms, and the equipment installed within them. It is split into parts, with each one referring to a different environment. For example, Part 6 refers to Ground systems.

United States requirements are detailed in Military Standard (MIL-STD) 461 and 1275; NATO countries are expected to meet the AECTP 500 series of standards.

Most other countries refer to one or more of the above standards.

Further information on the EMC testing of military equipment can be found here.

This page provides details of test systems available for testing defence products, according to Def Stan, MIL-STD and AECTP test methods. The list is not exhaustive, so please contact us if your required test method is not listed.

The links above each table take you to the System Product Page, where further information on the equipment provided with the system can be found. When ordering the system, please quote the option number.
